So — been on this thing for something like five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d say something since someone asked me the other day. Am based in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, small stakes, for context.
What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an e/w return actually came to when the place terms changed. I’d just guess and then be surprised. Now punch the numbers in before every slip, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator tool is the one I’m on daily — you drop in stake and odds and it spits out returns with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the multiples — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, which is where most people I know mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at implied probability — free, no signup.
One thing that really changed how I bet is the nerdier tools. There’s an implied probability calculator which shows you the overround, plus a kelly staking tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutching one is decent if I’m spreading across selections.
Couple of gripes. Its interface looks very functional, let’s say — no frills, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but worth saying.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, works. If anyone still does the maths on paper, try it — saves me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
Right — have been messing about with this thing for maybe five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d say something since a mate asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was actually a bit daft — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an e/w payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now punch the numbers in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I open most — you put in your stake, the odds and you get the return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. There’s also the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, which is where I’d always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s over at what is a trixie bet and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What actually shifted things for me is the nerdier tools. They’ve got an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutching one gets used a fair bit if I’m spreading across selections.
It’s not perfect mind. The design feels pretty plain — no frills, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable but the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but you asked.
Anyway. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If you even now does the maths on paper, have a look — saved me a fair few “wait, that’s it?” moments.
OK — been on this thing for maybe six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d write something up since a mate asked me last week. I’m in the UK, generally do football and horses, small stakes, for context.
The reason I started using it was honestly pretty stupid — I could never figure out what an ew return actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d eyeball it and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator tool is the bit I open most — type in the price and your stake and it shows returns straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s over at exchange betting calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the nerdier tools. There’s an probability converter that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly staking tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is terrifying. Dutching calculator is decent when I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its design is pretty plain — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works but the acca grid are a squeeze. Also there’s no app, just the site — fine by me but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Free, barely any ads, does what it says. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
So — have been messing about with this thing for something like four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am in the UK, generally do football and horses, nothing mad, for context.
The reason I started using it was honestly embarrassing — I never could work out what an each way payout would be when the place terms changed. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in before every slip, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator is the one I’m on daily — type in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. It also handles the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know lose track. Have a go yourself, it lives at whats a super heinz bet and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that actually changed how I bet was the more serious extras. They’ve got an odds-to-probability converter and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly staking tool — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its interface is very functional, let’s say — zero polish, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it works though the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. There’s no proper app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who honestly does the maths on paper, try it — it’s saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.
